Is there any good way to install Windows 3.2 into a USB flash drive and make it bootable as a system under DOS? Asking for advice from all the experts. Thanks a lot!

The full installation of Win3.2 is just over 20 megabytes. The USB flash drive is best to be USB-ZIP bootable. First install a DOS system above version 5.0 (HIMEM is required, and SMARTDRV is best). It can be run directly or released to a virtual disk for running.

You can copy the WIN3.2 that can run on the hard disk directly to the U disk of the DOS 7.1 boot disk, and then modify the PROGMAN.INI file in the WINDOWS directory of the U disk, deleting the path inside and leaving only the file name. If the memory is large, you can use XMSDSK.EXE to create a virtual disk in the memory, and then use XCOPY to copy the WINDOWS directory in the U disk to the virtual disk, and then run WIN.COM in the virtual disk.

Use USBoot to set the USB drive as USB-HDD, then copy the Win3.2 installation files to the Fat32 partition, boot to DOS from the USB drive, and execute Win3.2's Setup.exe. But note that do not create a permanent swap partition on the USB drive; instead, create a temporary swap file on the Fat32 partition, otherwise it will be very slow. And don't forget to run share.exe.

I have tried this method and it is very successful, with fast speed. And Office4.2cn, Microsoft Visual C++, Borland Delphi 1.0, WinZip6.3, Microsoft Visual Basic 1.0 - 4.0 have all been installed and can run!
