Introduction to the Yiyesong Boot Disk

In my spare time I made a bootable CD. This CD was optimized and improved on the basis of Wuyou Boot Disk version 3.1. I discarded some useless files from Wuyou Boot 3.1 and added some newer and more practical boot files and system tools. From a practical point of view, besides those system tools, this CD provides three commonly used systems: WIN98SE, WINME, and WIN2000 Professional (all extracted from genuine CDs; WIN98SE is the OEM edition), and it also provides installation tutorials for these three systems.
For now I have named it Yiyesong Boot Star.
Compared with Wuyou Boot 3.1, this boot CD has the following improvements:
1. This CD uses some of the latest DOS system files and hardware boot programs, such as CD-ROM and mouse drivers, taking up less memory and booting faster.
2. Besides booting by itself, this CD also supports other boot floppy disks or boot CDs (even ordinary DOS floppies). It is very simple to use. For example, if you boot with a WIN98 MS-DOS 7.10 boot floppy, then insert this CD, you only need to type yiyesong at the DOS prompt (if your original boot disk did not set the path, then you need to enter the CD drive letter), and you can enter the CD's nice graphical interface, just the same as booting directly from the CD.
3. With this CD you can also make a slimmed-down floppy edition. You can also use the slimmed-down floppy edition to boot the computer. This slimmed-down edition is a miniature version of the CD, extracting the most classic tool software from the CD. With the slimmed-down edition you can be completely independent of the CD, yet in actual use it is in no way inferior to the classic CD edition.
4. The CD edition and floppy edition can be switched between each other. That way, if either one breaks, you can use the other as a substitute.
5. The English prompt and graphical interface can also be switched between each other, and both are very simple to use. To go from the graphical interface to the prompt, you only need to click the corresponding button on the interface; this is the same as Wuyou Boot. To enter the graphical interface from the prompt, just type yiyesong. With the parameter /CD (that is, YIYESONG /CD) you can enter the classic CD edition, with the parameter /A you can enter the slimmed-down floppy edition, and with the parameter /? you can view a brief usage method for this command.
6. The placement of the operating systems is more flexible. As long as they are installation files for these three operating systems, you can put them anywhere. No matter where you put them, even if the installation directory does not use the original name (for example, you can name the WIN98 installation folder YIYESONG), or even if your installation files are on another CD (in that case, you only need to boot with this CD and then swap in your own CD), the program can automatically search for your installation files and begin installation.
7. After booting with the floppy edition, all the system tools on the floppy are extracted into memory. At that point, even if you remove the floppy, those tools can still be used as usual.
There are also some other improvements, too many to list in full.
I previously posted this on the Wuyou Boot Forum, hoping to share it with everyone, but I didn't expect the boss over there to rudely delete my post and even ban me from speaking. I am very angry about this, so I am specially posting it here. I feel this place has more of the spirit of the Internet. In addition, part of the software was taken from the New DOS Era website (that is, this site), and I would also like to thank webmaster Wengier for his help.

Wuyou Boot's stuff was poorly made to begin with, so I suggest everyone not use it.
A few days ago I also wanted to make a bootable CD. I saw that Wuyou Boot had a ready-made one, so I Downed one, added a few things, and burned the disc. There may have been a small problem when modifying the iso file, and I didn't pay attention to it at the time, but the result was a boot error. That was when I decided to write one myself. Following the principle of borrowing what is available, I figured I'd just modify Wuyou's, but once I started modifying it, I ended up changing almost everything (at the time I was amazed too: wow, I haven't written DOS configuration in so many years).
New DOS really is a site with real substance. The tools there really opened my eyes wide. For nearly four years I had basically not used DOS at all; even when I did, I only used the simplest few commands, not to mention doing configuration! Seeing the New DOS site got me excited beyond words; I never thought DOS had developed so much!
I support you all, and I also want to become one of you. As for my current skill level, it's gotten too weak, so I won't even mention it.

That makes sense. I also used to visit Wuyou's site often,
but it seems like you have to pay money to learn anything there.
What a rotten thing!
