I found that WinGrub can modify the MBR. Can Grub do that? Is it impossible to achieve without modifying the MBR?

Can the hotkey (F10) be written into the MBR to realize that before booting the system, it prompts "F10 to win98" for 2 seconds. If there is no key operation, it starts winxp on the C drive. If F10 is pressed, it boots and starts win98 on other drives. (Similar to one-key recovery)

It is recommended to learn the GRUB entry-level knowledge!
GRUB can be installed to the MBR, there are multiple methods and it is relatively simple. If you don't want to install it on the MBR, you can use NTLOADER to call GRLDR to achieve GRUB's booting!

WinGrub is just the Windows version of Grub, and all its operations ultimately still call Grub's functions.
It's like many programming languages where each statement corresponds to a system command.
