It is said that I need to install a Packet driver under DOS, but what exactly is a Packet driver? Where can I download it?

My network card is a Realtek RTL8139(A) PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter. I downloaded the DOS driver for the card from the manufacturer's homepage, but I don't know how to use it.

Also, how do I install Microsoft Network Client 3? During installation it asks me to choose the network card model, but my card model is not in the list, so the installation cannot continue. Is it necessary to install Microsoft Network Client 3 in order to get online under DOS?

Also, here when using ADSL to get online, we have to use the dedicated dial-up software provided by the telecom company, but that dial-up software doesn't have a DOS version. How can this be solved?

Right now I'm using the Lynx browser under DOS to post this thread here. Windows can't be used right now.

Lynx is a multi-platform Internet text browser. Whether it's DOS, Unix, FreeBSD, Linux, Win32 DOS Console, etc., it can be used on all of them.
