To All:

I wonder if everyone has noticed that there is a strange picture in the topic list interface of each sub - section of this forum. That is, below "Help" in the upper right corner of the interface, there is a picture with three downward arrows, and it has a link at the bottom of the page.

The strange thing is that if you select this picture with the mouse, the original three downward arrows that looked exactly the same become two straight lines with a downward triangle in the middle. The triangle in the middle is more like a diamond shape because the edges are blurred.

I wonder what everyone's explanation is for this?

Just curious, I clicked it, it's normal... There's no situation you mentioned.

Re GOTOmsdos:

Not a single click, that would go to the bottom of the page; use the mouse to drag and select the image to make it invert color.

I selected the picture by dragging the mouse, but it's normal, no inverse color. Maybe it's because of different mice..

Through observing with a magnifying glass, I find that IE should invert the colors of the picture like this: starting from the top-left corner of the picture, every other pixel, the original pixel is changed to blue.

Make a diagram for this issue:

Different patterns change depending on the number of pixels between the small triangles.

Oh, I see! That's the case. I don't know if it's intentionally designed like this or caused by a bug.

I think I've made it very clear. It's due to the inverse color principle of IE. There's no bug at all.

Re Michael:

Thanks, Brother Michael, that's very neatly solved!

That is to say, the reason why the three triangles have different inverse color changes is that the starting points of these three triangles are at positions with different odd and even numbers of pixels in the image, thus resulting in different filling inverse color effects.

But the situation I observed is slightly different, that is, the outer background of the image does not seem to be filled with blue at intervals, but is all filled. Of course, it may also be that the white inverse color to black is difficult to distinguish.

Using this principle, some interesting pictures can probably be made. When not selected, it is a chaotic shape, and when selected, a certain normal shape appears. I just don't know how to make such pictures. My basic knowledge of image science is really weak :-)

Yes, I looked at it with a magnifying glass for a long time, heh heh, but my name is Michael.

At first, I made a web page to scale the image. I found that the smaller the image, the greater the difference after inversion.
Later, I separately took out the left triangle and observed its inversion. I found that the inverted triangle was still a symmetrical figure. However, when it was at the left end or right end of the three triangles for inversion, it was no longer axisymmetric.
Then there was the above - mentioned guess. Later, I used a magnifying glass to look, and sure enough, it was like that.

呵呵,你选中的部分不仅是图片,还有一部分空白网页的,不信你右击全蓝部分试试,肯定没有“图片另存为”。当时我也迷惑了一会儿呢。
Hehe, the part you selected is not only the picture but also part of the blank web page. If you don't believe it, right-click on the completely blue part and you'll find there's no "Save Image As". I was also confused for a while at that time.

Re Michael:

Just now I thought about it again and felt that our consideration was incomplete because "IE has no reason to have blue filling in the gaps".

And the reason we see the blue filling in the gaps is probably because that picture is a GIF picture, and such pictures are all color-dithered, that is, they look like continuous colors, but actually they are a combination of two similar colors at intervals.

And IE's inverse color can capture and expand this color difference. Because after inverse color, there seem to be only a few basic colors such as blue, white, black, etc., and other colors are all converted into similar colors. And the two originally similar colors, after inverse color conversion, become completely different colors.

In this way, the explanation for the entire blue outer background is that the background part is optimized by the GIF and not dithered because of color repetition, so when restored, it is still continuous white, and when inverse colored, it is also continuous blue.

Re Floor 14:

It's not just the side of the picture, even between the two triangles, there is continuous blue filling.
