As long as you set the support for USB devices in the BIOS, you can use a USB keyboard. The MSDOS 7.1 boot disk also supports USB mice (it seems to be driven by Ctmouse.exe).

Do you have a USB mouse driver? Can you upload one?

This issue has been discussed several times in the forum. Currently, the USB mouse drivers under DOS are very unsatisfactory. It can only be said that if your motherboard BIOS (built-in) supports USB mouse under DOS, no setting is needed. If not, it's very difficult to handle solely with an external driver.
It is rumored that USB4DOS might support it, but it seems that no one in this world has ever seen this program, it's just a rumor. [ Last edited by 雨露 on 2007-3-9 at 07:34 PM ] |

For example, the USB wireless mouse I've been using all the time, because the BIOS supports it, can be directly driven by CTMOUSE under DOS, and it feels no different from using a general PS/2 mouse. |

Now many machines have a USB BIOS Support that supports simulating a USB mouse as a PS/2 or serial mouse under DOS.
But some machines still have serious compatibility issues, For example, my Thinkpad R60, under USB DOS support, as long as the Videothief screenshot TSR is loaded, the mouse will jump randomly. Using M$ Mouse Driver 11 or that domestic MOUSE.COM has the same symptoms, and ctmouse simply cannot be loaded. |

I've been using USB keyboards and mice to run under DOS all the time. Now that you mention it, I realize that no matter whether the DOS version is the latest or not, it's okay as long as the motherboard supports it. For example, I'm using a 965 chipset, and there are no problems at all~~~

Logitech's mouse drivers include drivers that can drive USB mice.
