I downloaded an MSDOS 7.10 bootable disk ISO file online, which integrates some tools like GHOST, PM, etc. After burning the ISO file to a CD and booting into DOS, when running GHOST, it prompts "no dpmi memory". What's the matter? How are DPMI, XMS, and EMS different? The DOS boot disk should have loaded HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE to allow DOS to use memory beyond 1M, why still use DPMI? How to solve this situation? Thanks

DPMI is DOS protected mode memory, which is different from EMS, XMS, etc. You need to load CWSDPMI or similar drivers. There are instructions at the bottom of the "DOS Drivers" column in the "DOS Software" section of the website.

WIN98 itself conforms to the DPMI specification, so that's why I let it try there.
I'm just a bit strange that GHOST needs DPMI.
Since it's a version that requires DPMI, why is it in the boot disk?

Why would a DPMI-required version be on the boot disk?
Some modified versions may have deleted/ruined the CWSDPMI module in ghost.exe, which causes this...
