The China DOS Union is an internet-based, loosely voluntary organization established by DOS enthusiasts, non-political and non-economic in nature. It consists of participating members (individuals and personal websites) with the purpose of researching, promoting, and developing DOS.
"China" here refers to a broad, non-political or geographical concept. We welcome any DOS enthusiasts who use or understand the Chinese language, and the use of non-Chinese languages is allowed as long as it does not interfere with communication.
The DOS Union Forum is the central base for the activities of union members. Basically, all registered members of the forum are regarded as participating members.
### Goals of the China DOS Union
The goal of the DOS Union is to promote DOS within the Chinese community, drive its development, and ultimately advance the application and level of computer use among the Chinese people, enabling computers to better serve our national interests. The China DOS Union does not exclude any non-DOS operating systems or non-Chinese languages.
### Relationship between the Union and Members
The relationship between the union and participating members (individuals or websites) is a loose cooperative relationship rather than a general subordinate relationship.
The union never seeks economic interests, nor does it allow participating members to seek illegal economic interests or infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of others. Members are not allowed to have words and deeds that violate laws and traditional morality. Members who seriously violate principles will be expelled and condemned. However, since the union does not truly bind members, the union does not make any form of commitment or guarantee regarding the actions of any participating member at any time.
### Political and Legal Issues Related to Union Members
The China DOS Union is a non-political organization that does not seek any political interests, which is for security considerations.
The union does not inquire about the political positions of any members or non-members, and does not require members to agree or disagree with certain political views in any way (explicitly or implicitly).
Therefore, for the security reasons of the union, especially the forum, we require that members' posts must not violate the laws and regulations of mainland China, and participating websites must not publish politically sensitive articles that seriously violate the laws and regulations of the mainland.
We very much hope that the DOS Union can achieve the goals mentioned in the second point, but the primary condition is that it first survives. Please understand this from our friends.
### Code of Conduct among Members
In the China DOS Union, all members are equal. Members should respect and understand each other.
The moderators of the forum are served by enthusiastic enthusiasts who volunteer to undertake various management tasks of the forum. Members who have any objections to the behavior of moderators can express their opinions in the specific community (Opinion Feedback & User Communication).
Members who have the following behaviors will be regarded as unwelcome, and serious cases will be subject to post deletion, criticism, ID blocking, etc.
① Using uncivilized, immoral, or vulgar and rude language, using dirty words indiscriminately, and refusing to accept criticism and make corrections.
② Posting articles and posts that seriously contradict the laws and regulations of the mainland, which may endanger the forum or even the union's security.
③ Using seriously insulting or discriminatory words against other members, or randomly attacking and abusing other members, causing disharmony.
④ Deliberately using dialect words to flaunt oneself, promoting localism, etc., with the suspicion of seriously insulting or discriminating against other members.
⑤ Posting too many random posts, wasting resources.
⑥ Moderators abusing management power, deliberately targeting and suppressing other members.
⑦ Using various methods to seek improper political or economic interests for oneself under the guise of the union, damaging the union's reputation.
⑧ Other behaviors that may endanger the security of the union and the forum or cause division.
### DOS Union and Copyright
The union acknowledges that it has cited materials or software that are not of its own copyright, but declares that it is not used for commercial purposes. If you think that the union or its members have infringed upon your copyright by citing your software or materials, please inform the union, and the union (or participating member) will delete them as soon as possible.
For software or materials of the union's own copyright, other individuals or websites are welcome to cite them, but they must be noted with the source.
### Management of the DOS Union (This has never been implemented, but is temporarily unchanged)
The management of the union adopts the way of council management. 5-10 members are selected from participating individual members as council members to be responsible for the management and operation of the union. The council will handle divergent opinions in accordance with the principle of minority服从 majority. Council members are re-elected by members every year.
### Other Supplements
The DOS Union welcomes individuals, units, etc. to provide website space, FTP space, guestbooks, forums, etc. as non-monetary sponsorships for the union or its members.
