Specific Usage:
1. Download the attachment and extract it to drive D or E (cannot be the system drive).
2. Restart the machine and enter pure DOS.
3. Navigate to the LOadISO folder that was just extracted.
4. Execute AUTOEXEC.BAT and select the ISO file on the hard drive to boot the disc image!

I previously saw many people asking about this. I am not sure if it has been resolved. I am posting it here for reference...

Attachments
LoadISO.rar (645.06 KiB)

It seems this can only create a virtual optical drive and cannot be used for booting, right?

It doesn't work. I tried following your steps. My hard drive has two FAT32 partitions, and no operating system is installed. I extracted LOadISO to drive D, and my ISO file is also in drive D. When I performed step 4 as you mentioned, a prompt appeared: <Not reading drive A>. I don't understand what's going on. Please advise.

Software Name: DOS Virtual CD-ROM Boot Disk
Software Language: Simplified Chinese
Software Type: Domestic Software / System Utilities
Operating Environment: DOS
License: Freeware
Software Size: 1.44 MB
Contact Person: None

This boot disk can create a virtual CD-ROM drive under DOS and mount ISO images via a Chinese wizard interface. You only need to click the mouse a few times to complete the ISO image mounting process, allowing you to use ISO image files under DOS without burning them to a disc or extracting them to the hard drive, making it easy and convenient!
I have successfully used it to install operating systems such as Windows 98, Windows 2000, and Windows XP. I hope it works smoothly for you too!
Note: The ISO image file name must not exceed 8 characters in accordance with DOS file naming conventions; otherwise, an error indicating the ISO file cannot be found and cannot be mounted will occur.

DOS is not outdated; it can actually use optical discs. Thank you, OP.
