I heard that there are low-level formatting tools that can not damage the original data during low-level formatting? For example, NORTON? But I have been looking for a long time and can't find it. Is there anyone who knows, can you tell me where to download it?

Beijing Science Press has published many computer series books. "Computer Maintenance Examples and Tips" was first published in August 2002 and second printed in February 2003. Authors are Huang Zhong and Jiang Xiaoqin. I just bought it not too long ago... Page 147!

I think he may be referring to NORTON under DOS, where calibrate can change the hard disk's interleave without destroying the original data. Originally, this could only be done during low - level formatting.

hddreg can repair bad sectors without data loss by using the magnetic addition method. However, if the bad sectors are too serious, it may not work.

But it's also possible, after all, there's not just one head on the hard drive. It's like at home you use two mops (one dry and one wet). You use the wet one first, then the dry one. After using both, the floor is still dry. Can you then say: Sorry, we didn't mop just now, but... were doing useless work ^_^
