Hello everyone. I'm new here. I'm especially looking for a piece of software, and I hope everyone can help me. It's PCTOOL 9.0. I've been looking for it for years and still haven't found it. I hope I can finally get somewhere here. I don't know if it's appropriate to post this here.

Let me ask presumptuously, is this the installation edition? Or can it be used directly after extracting? I've been looking for the installation edition of this software since I was very young.

In terms of files, PCTOOLS9.0 is now almost useless. It doesn't support FAT32. On top of that, it doesn't support other newer hardware either, so there are hardly any system detection functions left.. I tested the sound card detection and that still works, but of course you have to load the sound card driver first (under DOS)

I still use it often under dos6.22. I really want to find its installation edition, but all I can find are ones already installed by others.

I've never used PCTools. I've only seen its functions in computer books. Back when I was using MSDOS 6.22 and my hard disk partitions were FAT16, I couldn't find PCTools. Now I've found it, but all my hard disks are FAT32 so I can't use it.

Generally speaking, DOS software doesn't really have much of a distinction between installed and not installed. So-called "installation" is really just copying files, at most adding a bit of setup to the config files. In short, just copy the program's entire directory over, check the README, and it can run.. Even the so-called installation of the whole DOS system is basically like this.. Compared with WIN, it's completely different: the main reason is the registry, all WIN system configuration is in there..
