Experts, please help:
The situation is as follows.
When the external hard drive is connected to the USB port, if I boot with a Win98 startup disk (with duse.exe set to load in config.sys), the machine hangs when that driver finishes loading. If I boot with a WinME startup disk (with duse.exe set to load in config.sys), it can run until the A: prompt appears, and then it hangs. In both cases, warm boot also does not work.
How can I solve this?

Then what happens when you use my MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk to load DUSE.EXE:

Hi Wengier,
I downloaded the startup disk from the address you gave, but it's still the same old problem. It shows
UCHI USB Controller initialized (I/O 0*600 IRQ 5)
UCHI USB Controller initialized (I/O 0*640 IRQ 11)
and then stops there.
But after unplugging the external usb drive, it can boot.
Could it be that there is a problem with my external drive or motherboard?
Thanks

When it stops there, pressing the ESC key should cancel it, right.

I ran into a few problems when using DUSE. First, it seems to need upper memory. Second, this driver seems to be picky about chipsets; some chipsets cannot be recognized. I don't know the reason. Among the ones I could buy on the market, the only one that worked was INSYSTEM.

Pressing ESC didn't work either, but after I switched to motto it worked. Thanks
