Experts, brothers and sisters: I have an old Sony laptop. After so long, the CD-ROM drive no longer works. Because I messed up the system by accident, it crashed. It won't boot now and can only enter the BIOS. I want to reinstall the system, but the CD-ROM drive doesn't work!! I have no choice but to ask you for help! The computer has a floppy drive and USB, and supports booting from floppy. Could one of you give me a detailed installation procedure!! Thanks in advance, little brother here!!!

Floppy drive. Make a DOS boot disk with network support, then you can copy the installation files over from another machine.

If it supports USB, then under DOS it should be able to recognize a USB hard drive, right. Wouldn't that make it easy. Another option is to find an LPT cable. Use LL3 software to link the two machines under DOS and transfer the system over. That's how my old Fujitsu laptop was brought back to life. Heh. If there's anything you don't understand about linking them, just ask me. I've been messing with it for years. But I still can't get it to connect under XP.
