My needs are very simple..... I just want to be able to see Traditional Chinese characters in a DOS environment,

I don't necessarily need to input them.... Is there any simple little program

that can do it? My thought is to use it together with doslfn /z cp950uni.tbl like this,

then Volkov Commander should be able to display long filenames in Traditional Chinese, right?

Mainly I want to organize materials under DOS and am afraid the names might get damaged.. Please advise, everyone, thanks

Very simple, just use CCDOS97. It supports both Simplified and Traditional Chinese characters. Some Chinese character support systems from Taiwan, such as ETen, can do it too.

May I ask the admin... CCDOS97 in the DOS software category can no longer be downloaded.

Where else can I get it? Also, can any expert provide a download link for ETen Chinese

I forgot to mention one more thing... is there any compact Traditional Chinese system like XZL

so it takes up less space on a rescue floppy

There is CCDOS97 on the forum.
I haven't seen any Traditional Chinese system as compact as XZL, or maybe you can ask our Taiwanese friend Roy.

In my instant Chinese-localized boot disk there is a Simplified/Traditional Chinese conversion program called GB, very small, only a bit over 30K

Roy is from Hong Kong, right! I remember now, I think I saw him on Computing.Net.

Yes......
I'm from Hong Kong.
kesdoputr: There is a Traditional Chinese system as compact as XZL. But it has to use ETen's fonts.http://www2.zzu.edu.cn/ie/ddos/uploadImages/2003519571030574.rar

Honestly speaking, I don't really like the ETen system. I feel it responds very slowly and isn't very easy to use. Right now when I want to view Traditional Chinese under DOS, I use CCDOS

Does ETen support both Simplified and Traditional Chinese characters at the same time?

Moderator, unfortunately, ETen does not support it. Because it already responds very slowly when running, if it also supported Simplified Chinese then that would really be the end of it!! If you want it, moderator, I can give it to you

Forget it, no need. CCDOS97 is still more convenient, it supports both Simplified and Traditional at the same time! May I ask, is CCDOS97 well-known in Taiwan and Hong Kong?

As for Hong Kong, I'm not too sure. In Taiwan, it's not very well-known
