Kaida Stone Backup and Restore System

A self-made system "backup" and "restore" software.

Function:
A very simple system backup and restore program. After executing this program, to backup or restore the system, just press the "B" key or "R" key twice as prompted in the "Backup, Restore" option in the boot menu to complete the entire process automatically. And the backup file is placed in the last partition. (Supports Windows 2000 and later systems, does not support a single Windows 98 or Windows Me system.)

After installation, two options will appear in the system's boot menu: ("Backup, Restore" and "Boot Disk"

After selecting "Backup, Restore", the main menu that appears:

If you select "R", it will restore the system of drive C. If you select "B", it will backup the system of drive C to the ghost folder of the last partition

Press "R" or "B" key again to backup or restore.
Select "C" key to enter the second menu, and you can backup or restore drive D (that is, the second partition).

The operation is the same as above.

Instructions:
1. Supports single operating systems from Windows 2000 and later (Windows 98 single operating system is not okay, Windows Me has not been tested, but it can be used with dual operating systems above Windows Me).
2. It is best to have fewer than 12 partitions on the hard disk. The backed-up files will be placed in the last partition. If there are more than 12 partitions, the backup file will only be placed in the 12th partition.
3. Fully supports FAT32 partitions. Only supports NTFS primary partitions, does not support the format where all partitions are NTFS. Has not tried Linux partition format, cannot guarantee.
4. Supports dual systems. But it is only limited to C and D drives (first partition and second partition).
5. Has not tried dual hard drives, but manual confirmation of the backup file location may be troublesome.
6. Both options support Chinese input, (Pinyin: alt+F2, Wubi: alt+F3, Lenovo input: shift+F10), the "boot disk" option is a real-time mode MS-DOS, which is not available in the streamlined version.
7. To uninstall this program, you can run the "Uninstall Restore System.bat" file on drive C.

Steps:
A. Before backing up, please confirm that the last partition of the hard disk has at least 1G of space. It is best to slim down the system before backing up. (My WINXP-SP2 has installed drivers and common software, the backup after the player is only 379MB, and win98 is only 167MB)
B. If you want to back up the first partition, restart and select "Restore, Backup", then press the "B" key twice as prompted. Just back up once, and then restore the system by pressing "R" twice.
C. If you want to back up the second partition, you can select the "C" (enter the second menu) key and then press the "B" key twice as prompted. Just press "R" twice when restoring.
D. If you want to back up again, first go to the ghost folder in the last partition of the hard disk, rename or delete the system.gho file (system-2.gho is the backup file of the second partition. It is best to rename it, and it is not too late to delete it after confirming that the system runs stably).
E. After the system is restored, you need to run this program again to back up or restore, but if you run this program in Windows before backing up and then back up immediately after restarting, you don't need to.

Explanation:
This program is made by me part-time, there may be some deficiencies. Please be careful if there are important files on the hard disk. I am not responsible.

I restore the system every few days. AMD 1700+ overclocked to 2000+, it only takes 55 seconds to restore with the backed-up 379MB backup.

Backing up XP is only 379MB? Is it using GHOST's -Z9 (maximum compression)?
