In the BIOS, just set the USB drive to boot in “USB HDD” mode.

Only motherboards from these past few years support USB boot. Besides the USB hard disk mode mentioned by Wengier above, you can also boot using USB floppy emulation mode.
The requirement is that the motherboard BIOS supports it; on the other hand, your USB flash disk must be able to be made into a boot disk. |
