SIS650 motherboard, P4 CPU, unable to install DOS6.22. When installing DOS6.22, after it reaches 10% it can’t continue. I copied all the files over by copying the external commands, but it can’t be formatted. The partition is 2G, format FAT16. Everything checked out normal. Finally I went into the BIOS and LOADed the factory settings, and only then could it install normally. I can’t figure it out. In my understanding, DOS should be installable under any BIOS settings. I can’t figure out exactly which BIOS setting would affect DOS installation. And I can’t get back to the old setting either. Can anyone give me some pointers? Thanks!

I think it may be an issue with the hard disk format LBA.

Right, large hard disks should use LBA mode.

Try my MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk. After booting, just use the SYS command to transfer the system files to drive C:

LBA mode shouldn’t affect installing DOS. Could it be the anti-virus function?

I can’t figure it out; it should be impossible. LBA shouldn’t affect DOS!
