1. Problem of simulated printing by CCED under high-resolution monochrome display
CCED cannot simulate display under high-resolution monochrome display, because the driver is incomplete. The simplest
solution is to set CCED's display to COLOR400. Doing this has absolutely no bad effect on CCED's other functions.

2. Using CCED on a floppy disk
Among all versions of CCED FOR DOS, in fact only CCED5.0 cannot be used on a floppy disk. If you really need to use CCED on a computer that has only a floppy disk, you can go to the website 起步(firststep.mycool.net) and download a teaching floppy disk. It contains the streamlined China Dragon 4.0 network simplified edition and the electronic edition of CCED5.03, while also supporting high-resolution monochrome display and VGA and allowing simulated display. Of course there is only one font (Songti).

3. Using CCED on a NOVELL network
CCED5.18 and above fully supports NOVELL networks. After installing CCED on a NOVELL network, you only need to use MAP INS in the system login script to create a search path for CCED (assuming CCED is installed in the CCED directory of the SYS volume). Of course, users must also be given Find and Scan rights for that directory.
Add one line in the system login script: MAP INS S10=SYS:CCED
Then after users log in to the network, they can call CCED at any time.

4. Letting ordinary users use simulated printing on diskless workstations on a NOVELL network
CCED's simulated printing needs to use the root directory of a disk as a buffer, generating a temporary file named "CCED_TMP.TMP" there. But ordinary users do not have write permission to the root directory (the root directory of the volume), so in this case only the system administrator can use CCED's simulated printing function.
But as we know, ordinary users on a NOVELL network all have their own directories with write permission. If this directory is mapped as the root directory of some drive, the problem can be solved. Suppose user S1's directory is USER:S1, and so on.
Find an unused drive letter, for example drive E
Log in to the network as system administrator and start SYSCON
Add one line in the system login script: MAP ROOT E:=SYS:\%LOGIN_NAME\,note that LOGIN_NAME must be uppercase.
Then modify CCED's settings and set the print buffer drive letter to E:
