I want to load the standard DOS NIC driver under Windows 98.
But it gives an error. Exiting 98 and going into DOS still doesn't work.
It only loads if I reboot and go directly into DOS.
Is there any way to load it directly under Windows or under pure DOS, without having to reboot every time?

At startup, boot directly into pure MS-DOS 7.10 instead of entering the Win98 interface.

I know that.
But sometimes I use 98.
Then I'd still have to reboot anyway.

No need to reboot. If you want to enter the Win98 interface, just type the WIN command in DOS.

Sorry.
What I mean is, sometimes I'm using 98, and then I need to use an old system, which needs the driver under DOS.
Explanation: this system has two kinds of connections, COM port and TCP/IP. But when connecting with telnet under Windows,
the print format becomes different. Using the COM port in Windows MS-DOS mode prints normally.
I have tried loading the NIC driver under pure DOS, and then using the telnet tool under DOS, and it prints normally.
But it's a bit troublesome, since I have to reboot every time. That's why I'm asking whether there is any way to load it in Windows MS-DOS.

Packet Driver cannot run in a DOS window under Windows 9x; it can only be loaded under pure DOS.

I tried it today.
The D-Link 220 NIC can be loaded under DOS in Windows 98.
