Actually, I really think DUSE is very simple to use. Just add this in Config.sys:
device=a:\duse.sys
and that's enough. That's how I use it. Before, I added a lot of parameters, but actually they weren't necessary. I think DUSE handles things automatically. At least my DUSE driver has no problem driving my Patriot USB hard disk.

It should be said that lower versions of DOS do not support large hard disks. Higher versions of DOS, such as MS-DOS 7.10, fully support large hard disks! For example, my hard disk is 30G, and under MS-DOS 7.10 it works completely normally.

I put the two extracted files onto the boot floppy, then modified the boot floppy's CONFIG file and added DEVICE=A：\DUSE.EXE in that file. Then I tested two external hard disks of different brands. After booting, the computer always prompts Invalid unit reading drive G. What is causing this?

I don't know whether my USB2.0 external hard drive enclosure will work or not. I'll report back after testing it.
