I don't know what's going on, but after reinstalling Win2000, 16-bit DOS programs won't start. The message below always appears, and whether I click Close or Ignore, it doesn't help at all. Everything was fine before the reinstall; I just don't understand why it's like this now. Also, there is no CONFIG.NT in the Winnt\System32 folder. Could it be related to CONFIG.NT?
The Win2000 version before and after reinstalling is the same, Professional + Service Pack 3, version number: 5.00.2195.

It's exactly because CONFIG。NT and AUTOEXEC。NT are missing! Because when running 16-bit DOS programs, these two files are started first to simulate the DOS environment. But this is only a small problem, just copy them into SYSTEM32 and it should probably work..

That is caused by the missing CONFIG.NT file. Just create a new CONFIG.NT file or copy one over; even an empty one will do.

Oh, so that's how it is. Thank you to you two experts for clearing this up! After I created a new CONFIG.NT, the system then said AUTOEXEC.NT was missing, so I recreated that too, and everything returned to normal!
