Microsoft's stuff has many problems, especially compatibility, with poor compatibility for DOS, Unix/Linux, etc. This also bothers me a lot. When we upgraded the forum this time, we also had the idea of replacing the DVBBS ASP forum with a PHP one, but there's a major problem, that is, it's relatively troublesome to convert the existing DVBBS Access database to the PHP forum's database, and it seems there's no special tool to achieve this. So, because of taking care of the existing data, there's no good solution for the time being. And if it's a new forum, it's naturally different. For example, the relatively new English DOS forum we built (that denbbs forum) uses PHP.
