Hello! Right now under Win98 I'm using a USB mouse. So, can a USB mouse be used in a pure DOS environment?

A few days ago I borrowed a USB mouse from downstairs, and after loading OHCI in pure DOS it really could be used, just that it was nowhere near as good to use as a PS/2 or COM mouse after loading CuteMouse.
