Function Overview
At its root, Grub is a bootloader for Linux, just as NTLDR is for Windows NT/2K/XP. However, it has multi-boot functionality and is constantly developing and improving. Currently, its new functions are as follows:
1. Support for Chinese display and background images;
2. Support for virtual floppy disk function, which can be used to boot the system;
3. Support for hard disk virtualization, disk mapping (of course, can also activate/hide/create partitions);
4. Support for network boot (including network virtual floppy disk);
5. Support for CD-ROM boot (has an independent driver for BIOS - independent ATAPI devices);
6. Cross-platform support;
