There are a lot of executable file compression tools here, they might be useful, but I still couldn't find one for compressing EDIT or COMMAND.

I forgot to say, please recommend one from that site that has the highest compression ratio and can still let DOS programs run normally after compression, thanks.

I just wanted to try compressing IO.SYS and COMMAND.COM, but in the end neither one succeeded. As for which one works a bit better, I think everyone will have to try them to know. Everyone can post their test results here.

At present, UPX has the highest compression ratio for executable files (EXE). It can also compress EXE files for WINDOWS9X/NT/2000/XP.

Only COMPREXE can compress IO.SYS, but only by a tiny bit. Among the software I know, none can successfully compress COMMAND.COM.

Got it, looks like SYS and COM files are harder to deal with, thanks.

I tried UPX Shell Lite, and that didn't work either.
