Just install it directly. There are several parameters for SETUP. You can type SETUP/? under DOS to see them.

Suppose you have copied the installation source disk of 98 to the D:\Win98 directory on the hard disk.
1. Boot the system with the 98 boot floppy disk.
2. Execute the following commands in sequence:
d:
cd\win98
smartdrv
setup
