My CD-burning software NERO and my digital camera driver both won't install, and I can't reinstall Win98. The drive is divided into three partitions, C D E. Under Win98, scanning drives D and E completes normally, but when scanning drive C, it hangs when it gets to scanning the file allocation table. Booting into DOS and running scandisk on the hard disk reports an invalid long filename, and it also finds cross-linked files. Since there is important data on drive C, I can't reformat it for now. Is there any way to recover the FAT table?
