How can I set DOS 6.22 to have a startup screen? Like Windows's blue sky and white clouds?
Thanks!! |

MS-DOS 6.22 is impossible, unless you use a dedicated image viewer, such as QV and the like. MS-DOS 7.x can do it: set LOGO=1 in MSDOS.SYS, and save the picture you like as C:\LOGO.SYS, for example the “New DOS Era” logo can also be used.

You can first make a GIF image, then use GIF2EXE to convert it into an EXE file, and then put it into AUTOEXEC.BAT.
I did this under NOVELL before. |

Using GIF2EXE won't work. Not only can it be executed only after AUTOEXEC.BAT starts running, more importantly, while the picture is being displayed it cannot run any other program in the background. But the method of setting LOGO=1 in MSDOS.SYS and saving the picture as C:\LOGO.SYS can provide full background program execution. QuickView Pro and the like can also display a picture while running programs in the background, but they too can only run after AUTOEXEC.BAT has loaded, so none of them is as good as setting LOGO.SYS directly.

I have it here. Haven't you noticed that boot disks transferred with the sys command have a startup screen???
It's also put into io.sys, but if there is a logo.sys in the root directory, it will call that one. The file format of logo.sys is a 320X400X256-color bmp image. That is to say, just make a picture into 320X400X256 colors and save it as a bmp image named logo.sys, and it'll be OK!!! |

Yes, just put those LOGOs mentioned by PlayBoy2925 into C:\LOGO.SYS.

Hehe, admin, you're quite humorous. You wrote my name in uppercase
.When I registered, I didn't quite trust this site, so I used such a dirty name. But after posting so many posts, I don't want to change my ID anymore......................................................... Also, dvbbs has a new version out. |

My current MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk already has a complete startup LOGO screen. Download address:
