I saw that one machine in an internet café may have had WINDOWS accidentally messed up by someone. The system says WINDOWS has an error. I want to use the backed-up 98 setup program to reinstall it, but after entering DOS, the backup files are in a folder with a Chinese name, and under DOS it shows up as garbled text again. Moderator, how can I open this folder? What method should I use? Please explain in detail, thanks!

Start a Chinese character support system, such as CCDOS97, UCDOS, TWAY, or PDOS95. If there are long filenames, just run DOSLFN.

Thanks, but unfortunately none of them are installed. Is there really no other way?

The Chinese edition of Win9x comes with the PDOS95 Chinese character support system, just run it.

Many thanks, but could you teach me the specific steps? For example, what commands do I need to run, and how do I bring up the PDOS95 Chinese character support system?

This is really troublesome, I'm honestly very sorry!

Run PDOS95.BAT under DOS. If you want to load DOSLFN, just run DOSLFN.COM.

The key thing is that I learned some more things too. Even though this may be just the basics to experts like you, I'll have to ask you for more advice in the future, so please don't find it troublesome!

First learn how to ask a question before anything else.
Make your post title better.
For posts with this kind of title, in the future there may be only these three endings:
1。Nobody pays attention. (This is the best-case scenario)
2。It gets moved to the off-topic section.
3。It gets deleted.
