Computer experts:
My laptop is an ultra-thin model, with external CD-ROM and floppy drives on USB, and also a PC Card interface. A few days ago I formatted the hard disk, then booted with a Win98 system disk. I can get into DOS, but it just can't find the CD-ROM, so I can't install the system. Right now it can recognize the floppy drive, but it just won't recognize the external CD-ROM. This is really driving me crazy, so I'm asking all you experts to help me with an idea. How can I get the external CD-ROM recognized? Or is there some other way to install the system? If a PC Card CD-ROM can work, that's fine too, but I don't know how to make use of it. It would be best if you could be detailed, because my skills aren't very good. I'd be extremely grateful. |

Try DEVICE=USB_CD.SYS
or DEVICE=DUSE.EXE |

First learn how to ask a question.
Change your post title to something better. For posts with titles like this, in the future there may be only these three outcomes: 1。Nobody pays attention to it. (This is the best case.) 2。It gets moved to the off-topic section. 3。It gets deleted. |
