There are converters that turn USB into LPT1 or COM, but I don't know whether the drivers will work. Generally HP stuff comes with Win98 support, but DOS is hard to say.

The main problem is that this HP model may be relatively cheap; it simply does not have a parallel interface at all.

The DOS is under WIN98; strictly speaking, it is being used under DOS in WIN98 booted from a virtual floppy drive.

The USB interface method itself shouldn't be a problem to drive under DOS. The main thing is, does your printer model have a DOS driver?
