View video card and sound card information under DOS. I hope someone can provide a small, easy-to-use software tool that can detect hardware versions and other information under pure DOS, preferably with usage instructions. The machine lost its drivers; after installing the system, I still don't know the video card or sound card information, so I don't even know where to start looking. Thanks in advance.

Try testing software like NSSI, HWINFO, AIDA, etc.

I’ve used hwinfo. On one machine I had a “Yamaha 734” sound card installed, and it was with that that I finally identified the chip and downloaded the actual driver.
