My laptop has no CD drive or floppy drive. I want to use a CD-ROM drive under DOS, but I don't want to spend too much money on a USB CD-ROM drive, so I bought a USB-to-IDE cable and connected my old desktop CD-ROM drive to use it. I copied RAMFD.SYS, USBCD.SYS, Usbaspi.sys, Di1000dd.sys to the root directory of the boot disk. In the CD section of the Config.sys file I added the following two lines of code
device=usbaspi.sys device=di1000dd.sys
During loading it recognizes the CD-ROM drive letter, but I can't view the contents of the disc.
Please help me, experts

Can the OP help with this? I asked Shen Jie about it tonight, and he said I need to add USB—CD.SYS instead of USBCD.SYS. Is there such a file? I searched on GOOGLE and didn't find it. What's the difference between these two??

One more thing: using the USB-to-IDE cable to boot a desktop hard drive is no problem, it's just the CD-ROM drive that won't work. I can see the drive letter, but I can't see the contents. Please help, please help
