I have the German version of Norton Commander 5.5, and then I used the English information of the 5.0 English version to make it an incomplete NC 5.5 English version. It fully supports long file names.

First, delete the NC.INI file in the NC5.5 folder, and then press the F3 key to view the file.

Try to first delete the NC.INI file in the NC5.5 folder, then press the F3 key to view the file.
Tried it, deleting NC.INI didn't work, still a black screen. Finally, it was found that deleting NC.CFG solved the problem.
Also, I don't know if you have noticed that when pressing F10 to exit, YES has become ZIP.
