The way I used it shouldn't be wrong. It's not just that the capacity is wrong, the hard drive also shows up empty, there's nothing on it at all. Really strange problem. Has anyone run into this before?

Older BIOSes didn't support large hard drives, and the limit got stuck right at 8GB. The reason was that they didn't support CLY beyond 1024. Your problem looks a lot like this, very likely DUSE, or the hard drive enclosure, doesn't support CLY beyond 1024.

That probably isn't the problem, right? Why is there no problem at all under WIN, and it recognizes it just fine there? Besides, this motherboard is also new, so there's no reason it shouldn't support large hard drives. Still looking for an explanation.

It may be a DUSE problem. Go check its homepage and see whether there's any note saying it doesn't support large hard drives.

Look up some of my old posts on the forum. Also, don't load DUSE from the command line, you must put it in config.sys and load it with device!!!!!

Please first try loading it in CONFIG.SYS with the DEVICE command and see what result you get.
