I installed XP. Before that, I started installing 2000 but canceled halfway through. After XP finished installing, every time it starts up I get a prompt saying there is an image file error, and after it runs for about 30 minutes the system asks to shut down and then automatically shuts down within one minute. How can I use DOS to solve this problem without formatting the disk or reinstalling the system?

Enter shutdowln -s -t xxxx in Run, where xxxx is the number of seconds before shutdown.
Or create a batch file rundll32.Ex shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 1

Sorry
Let me add something:
There is no "l" in “shutdowln”.
“rundll32.Ex” should have an “e” added at the end.

Create a shortcut on the desktop, and in the wizard enter shutdown.exe -s -t XX(time, for example 10)
