I have a USB hard drive. When using it under Win98, I need to install a driver before I can use it. After installing the driver, I also have to set it as removable in Device Manager, and assign it a drive letter (it can't conflict with any existing drive letters). After setting it up, the system prompts for a restart, and after restarting the hard drive can be used! The problem is here: I often go to Internet cafes to download things, but the machines there all have hard drive restore cards. After restarting, everything gets deleted, which makes both my driver and the assigned drive letter invalid! I once saw a network admin do it—he didn't need to restart. He typed a few commands in Windows MS-DOS, then just used logoff and that was enough! I remember there seemed to be a set command, but I can't remember the others! Please help me, experts, many thanks!!!!!!!
