Today I discovered that the SYS command in MS-DOS 7.x/8.0 has an undocumented /Y parameter. Does anyone know what it is used for?

Let me give it a try

Wow, when typing
SYS /y <drive letter>
the system actually shows
Cannot obtain exclusive access to drive uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
To be exact, it's the Chinese pinyin "yu", that is, a u with two dots over it.
And when typing SYS /y <drive1><path> <drive2>

it shows, in English: not enough free disk space --<drive2>
I didn't find any other problems. Please have Wengier explain.

If this is DOS's usual style, then does that mean no confirmation prompt is required when transferring system files? Strange..

I don't have a floppy disk, so I can't test it...

If there is a different version of DOS on the target disk, it should give a prompt, right? Is this used to ignore that prompt?
