Listen to me, after a large amount of testing by yours truly, the data is the most reliable: DOS environment: Supports self-extracting archives: ARJ1.9 has the highest compression ratio, suitable for making small software such as for 1.44 floppies. Does not support self-extracting archives: UHA, suitable for making large software such as game CD collections. Supports EXE slimming: UPX, suitable for releasing single EXE executable software. WIN environment: WINRAR and UPX. As for the rest, claims of high compression ratios are all advertising. I've tried them all, don't believe it: ACE, AIN, ABD, RAR, ZIP....

To the poster above, although uharc's compression ratio is quite a bit higher than winrar's, its compression speed is slow, totally out of proportion! Your uda seems even slower You're forcing me to use winrar... but I just won't. I use powerarchiver. Anyway the compressed results are all the same, hehe!

Yeah, if judged by compression ratio/time ratio, WINRAR really is the best, followed by 7-ZIP and UHARC

dwing : First of all, thank you for developing a compression program of our own in China. UDA's compression ratio is indeed pretty good, but the speed is too slow, and it can't run under pure DOS. I hope you can keep working at it, improve the speed, and support running under pure DOS.

I think unzip5.5 is pretty good, just released, feels very convenient, furthermore ____ a freeware!!

I rather like AIN2.2, it's small, fast, and powerful. Can anyone crack AIN2.2 so it smoothly skips that annoying ad and keypress at the beginning? Also, who has the UHA compression software? Please upload it, thanks in advance.
