In config.sys, you can only pass environment variables to autoexec.bat. After config.sys is executed, the image loaded by configp.mnu disappears. So you cannot use the image loaded by configp.mnu in autoexec.bat.

My USB flash drive has been upgraded from CONFIGP.MNU 3.03 to 4.02. I wanted to show it off, but the GIF with 256 colors is too bad, seriously affecting my son's image. PNG is too large, why doesn't it support JPG. Well, text support.

CONFIGP.MNU 4.02 only supports JPG format. Moreover, there are many different commands compared to version 3.03, please carefully read the instructions file.

Haha, what I mean is that there is no JPG in the attachment format of this forum.
My son's photos are used very cool in 4.02.
The biggest advantage I have is that if there is an instruction for a software, I will definitely read it several times before touching it.

PNG format has the smallest size without losing image quality. You can compare converting the same BMP image file into PNG, JPG and GIF formats. The true-color PNG format is even smaller than the 256-color GIF format. Of course, there is no point in converting if it is already in JPG format. So the forum has disabled the upload of JPG format files.

In addition to providing software to members, these illustrative image files are best linked externally.
Please try to use external links first, then consider the China DOS Union File Upload System, and only use the attachment upload form as a last resort. And when uploading images, please try to use lower color depths if they can illustrate the problem.

I downloaded the Dos beginner's Dos toolbox from the Dos era. His toolbox used your ConfigP.Mnu, but when starting up, Configp.mnu shows a screen with garbled characters. I don't know why? Can it be solved?
