Hello Tinybit,

We are going to release another WINDRV demo these few days. This new demo includes a partition editor that can help partitioning ATA harddisks. Also it will include a batch mode for creating win9x images by using ini type file that lists out what files to or not to include for building a win9x bootable images. This way one can experiment about building win9x images of different sizes. It can function well for Simplified PWin9x.

Basically, it can dump a filelist for a certain drive/directory into a file and it can read an ini file to build a win9x image file.

What is a good news is that it can build a raw disk image or a raw partition image. Included is also our own MBR so that the raw partition image with MBR can be booted under Bochs. So it is now easy to make a Bochs bootable image under Windows.

You can also use the bootable partition image built by our demo to make a bootable iso image for burning a bootable CDROM by use of easyiso, a free CDROM burning software. Or you can use Nero to do the same using the bootable raw disk image built by our product.

Our demo works under win9x and win2000/xp except in win2000/xp we do not include a Virtual Disk Manager yet. This is what we will do soon after we finish our network version.

I have used MLD's MINI98SE, it's very easy to use and fast. After booting, it doesn't need a CDROM and can be placed on the hard disk. But you need to modify the A drive boot file and the registry under MINI. One drawback is that the background is too ugly and hard to change.
