The administrator wants to vigorously develop DOS, which is correct and quite good. After all, this is the DOS Union, not the Batch Processing Union. But I think this goal should not be achieved by restricting the development of sections such as the Batch Processing Room....

If I didn't need to use batch processing, I wouldn't have learned anything about DOS, CMD, and wouldn't have come here at all.

It is suggested that the administrator think from the perspective of needs. Blindly opposing the so-called "pragmatism" will put your ideals on a shelf.

If there is no demand, DOS will not continue to exist. No one would spend time fooling around with a useless thing all day long.

The post sent by the administrator!
I think their explanations are a bit... sad.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Let me explain~ I hope the administrator can change his or her concept!
That is, DOS (Disk Operating System) is a very widely used disk operating system, and even the currently popular Windows 9x/ME systems are based on it.
There are two common types of DOS: PC-DOS from IBM and MS-DOS from Microsoft. Their functions, command usages, and formats are the same. The one we commonly use is MS-DOS.
Since DOS was released in 1981, the versions have been continuously updated. From the initial DOS 1.0, it has been upgraded to the latest DOS 8.0 (Windows ME system). The highest version of pure DOS is DOS 6.22. The new versions of DOS after that are provided by the Windows system and do not exist alone. The DOS used in the following explanations is the DOS 7.0 system of Windows 98 4.10.2222A.

Batch files. In MS-DOS, the.bat file is an executable file composed of a series of commands, and it can include calls to other programs.
A batch file is a text file. Each line of this file is a DOS command (most of the time it is just like the command line we execute under the DOS prompt). You can use Edit under DOS or Notepad (notepad) and any other text file editing tools under Windows to create and modify batch files.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From this, it can be seen that DOS does not contain BAT (batch processing), but BAT contains all the commands of DOS
We cannot separate DOS and BAT and say they are not from the same family~
I think the opposite...

Let's ask everyone~

I believe that people who learned DOS after 1989~ basically started with CMD and then came into contact with BAT
Wow~ I found that CMD is so great, fun~ so useful!
Then gradually learn each command and start making BAT!
Grow slowly! Until you can fully apply these commands|~
When needed, take out this 'secret weapon' at any time, right?
Of course, there are too many things to learn about DOS. It can basically do everything~....
Veterans~ some of you may also be like that! Recall it!... Don't admit it?
Nonsense ends here~ Finally, I hope everyone can grow together in this forum~
Learn more "knowledge".....

Support DOSroot administrators!

Still, it's better not to confuse concepts and mislead others. DOS has been misunderstood by many people. I hope that in such a relatively professional forum, there won't be a lot of inaccurate or even incorrect things, and no one will correct them.

Just now, I read the replies. Climbing mentioned pragmatism. Actually, I think there's no need to mention "ism". I think beginners should be made to know that DOS and Windows command line do not belong to the same platform, and this kind of mistake should not be ignored.

It's not that there's no place to discuss non-DOS system issues here. The batch processing and script section is also very straightforward. I think any platform's scripts can be discussed there. I think it's right to require being true to its name.

It seems that my CMD post has also been deleted! Alas, there's not even a prompt, and I thought it hadn't been posted.

Just asking about making a batch script under DOS commands to send emails with attachments. This also belongs to programming under DOS, and how to format it so that those troublesome y, enter and such don't pop up.

Hehe, still dare to quibble? Drag out and slap the mouth!
Brother, I have already told you the reason, why don't you read it carefully and think carefully?
"All topics and replies that post non-DOS problems in the DOS section will be directly deleted,..."
The post you sent has nothing to do with DOS! It's not that what you think or think is a DOS thing is really DOS.

Theoretically, these things can be done under DOS, and anything can be done. For example, the registry of Windows can also be modified under DOS. But from the content of the post you sent, it is not under DOS. If you are not clear about the difference between DOS and Windows command lines, please read this article:

In addition, the tone of the friend above may be a bit heavy, but please don't mind. He was just kidding with you.

Hehe, sorry! The statement about slapping the mouth on floor 42 is purely a joke. If it is misunderstood and causes discomfort, you can slap me once.
