I also like DOS very much, but I started late. I saw a computer with DOS for the first time in 1998. It seemed that after a month, it became Windows 98 or maybe Windows 95. I can't remember clearly. I like assembly language for DOS very much, and I also liked single-chip microcomputers for a while. Now I don't...

I'm using assembly language to eat now! There's no way, I only know assembly... Hehe

I didn't realize until junior high school in 1995 that the country was founded... 286. Unfortunately, in school, I didn't study well and no one taught me properly. I randomly used XP directly in 2002, and looking back, I feel ashamed. In the middle of the time when WIN95 was prevalent, I played that Red Alert. I knew how to play it when the icon came out, but I didn't know anything else. Gradually, I came to know that DOS was very important. Because there was an introduction to the new DOS era thing in my very old boot disk, so it has been like this all the time. Once I also bought a Red Hat disk, and I didn't know it until later when I found out that it was originally LINUX. Unfortunately, I threw that disk away. Say the vendor cheated me.

The landlord uncle, you are amazing. Now there are not many people like you who play with the DOS low-level. I also know a DOS expert, Mr. Ye from Taiwan. This person is extremely arrogant and once participated in the development of MS DOS 5.0. He said that the programmers in our company are all computer idiots (let alone us, we are "computer bananagrams"). He now only (knows how to) use assembly language, and he writes his own development tools, which is awesome. He also said that MS Windows is garbage, and the things developed by MS are getting worse generation by generation with many problems, and he disdains to use them!
In China, a large part of the programs and hardware in the paperboard industry are developed by others through him, with first-class speed and very stable.

Choose DOS or Windows?

One of the most straightforward reasons for choosing DOS is that it's free! The rest, like freedom and fast speed, are pale arguments. Developing any software under Windows is much easier than under DOS. Just think about font display, encoding and decoding of various image formats/audio and video. Can that be easily done under DOS? As for freedom, you can also develop device drivers under Windows to achieve it, and there are many technologies that allow RING3 to directly operate ports...

Explanation:
1. Everyone says Windows starts slowly. In fact, using the RAMDISK technology, Windows doesn't start slowly.
2. Everyone thinks Windows is unstable. This is even a wrong view. If you install the original version of Windows, don't install other software randomly, and then keep the computer on for a year, will it crash? The instability of Windows comes from the popularity of Windows. Countless software fills in it, increasing the unstable factors.
3. Everyone knows that Windows operates slower than DOS. Of course, Windows has RING3 and RING0, among which there are verifications and conversions, so it must be slower than DOS to some extent, but it's only in microseconds! You can't regard the PC as a real-time system. The time precision of the PC is only about 50MS! If you want real-time, you must use another CPU or a hardware card!!

Developing software in Windows is really too easy!! Windows gathers many technological achievements, and you can easily enjoy the convenience brought by these. Except for the factor of copyright fees, I really can't find the meaning of developing software under DOS anymore (of course, except for tools like repairs).

I also came from DOS step by step to Windows, and I have a deep experience......
I still like DOS very much. After all, you can completely control the system, and have a different experience from under Windows

I'm a newbie, but I think: Most people currently using DOS are mostly those engaged in embedded or industrial control. Windows is suitable for individuals and entertainment. It's too large in size and the program efficiency is not high. At the same time, in industrial engineering applications, the computer environment is much harsher, so stability and simple system are required to directly operate hardware. Programming under Windows is worse in terms of both size and efficiency.

No, now the price of memory is too low. How much is a 2G memory? How much is a 1G memory card?
As long as electromagnetic compatibility is well done, Windows can work normally and stably in harsh environments.
Windows is much more stable than DOS! This is determined by the characteristics of protected mode!!

In the industrial control field, everyone prefers DOS. In fact, this is a matter of concept!

I'm also getting into DOS! I'm a newbie, even though I'm in my twenties. I like the black hole - like interface of typing command lines in DOS, and I like assembly language.
