DOS is the abbreviation of Disk Operating System (Disk Operating System). MS-DOS is the DOS developed by Microsoft Corporation, and there are also many DOS from other companies.
You need to flash the BIOS to use MS-DOS. The minimum startup of MS-DOS requires three files "IO.SYS", "MSDOS.SYS" and "COMMAND.COM". It is recommended to use MS-DOS 6.22 to flash the BIOS. The identification method is to use the "VER" command to check the version number after startup. If it is only the minimum startup (not including "AUTOEXEC.BAT" and "CONFIG.SYS", the system will prompt to enter the time and date when booting, just press Enter all the way. Using this version should not cause problems.
MS-DOS 7.1 is the shell program of Windows 98 and is used for booting.

※MS-DOS 6.22 does not support hard disks of FAT32 and NTFS series. You need to copy the flashing program and image to a floppy disk in Windows in advance.

Open the Control Panel, there is a Power Options in it. Check if you have enabled Advanced Power Management.

Bios flashing is quite a challenging task. I've done it a few times, and each time I was on tenterhooks.

Note: I used MS - DOS 7.10 to flash.
