I don't know if it's a virus, or a logic lock (something I heard about on the forum these past few days), or if there are bad sectors on the hard drive damaged by a virus~ What should I do?

How many files on your D, E, F drives are the ones you can't bear to part with, and what are those files?

These are all kinds of things collected over the years, including programs, entertainment stuff, pictures, music, etc. I don't want to lose all this data unless it's absolutely necessary... Alas~

Now it's prompting me that the C drive isn't ready. But I did plug in the power cord and the data cable~ And I didn't touch these things before. It just froze when I was surfing the Internet, and then this error appeared. Then I took apart the hard drive, but I installed the hard drive back exactly as it was originally, so there shouldn't be an error. Why is this...~55555~~~

Can you access drives D, E, and F now, and can you use the files inside them?

How to get back to the low-level formatting situation? It is estimated that it was the area divided by dm when installing the commercial machine at the beginning. It's not a problem. Delete the C drive with spfdisk, then recreate and format it. If you are patient, first try to repair it with ndd2002.

Now, besides drive A, only drive C and drive D are visible. Among them, drive C cannot be operated at all; any operation prompts that drive C is not found. As for drive D, the things I originally stored in drive D are all gone. When booted with rdos, drive D has nothing. When booted with Super MSDOS, drive D only has some things from the boot disk, including commands like fdisk, etc., and the original things are also gone. Drives E and F do not exist and cannot be found. When I scanned with NDD, it got stuck at 3% and couldn't proceed. There is a clicking sound from the hard disk (this sound didn't exist before the hard disk had an issue), and it has been stuck at 3% all the time! Maybe the track 0 is damaged? Or something else is damaged? Everyone, please help me!!!

Oh, this D drive is not the D drive on your hard disk; it's a virtual disk created by the boot disk... Use DiskGen to take a look... This is a phenomenon where the hard disk partition table is lost... It's okay.

Master大哥, what should I do now? Because I don't understand anything very much, so just telling me what to use to check, I don't understand clearly. What should I do specifically? I only have two boot disks now (rdos and msdos), and ndd is placed in the rdos boot disk. I don't know if this exists or how to use it!
And "when I scanned with ndd, it couldn't read past 3%, and the hard drive made a whooshing sound (it didn't have this sound before the hard drive had problems) and stayed at 3% all the time!"

What is the reason for this?? Now I don't know if it's a physical damage or the files inside (partition table, boot record, etc.) are damaged.
I could originally boot with a Win98 boot disk on my classmate's computer (now I can't, only the above two boot disks can be used). At that time, the C, D, E, F drives were all there, and I could also see the data inside. When I formatted the C drive at that time, it couldn't pass at 3%, the hard drive kept whooshing, and there were numbers moving on the screen. It seemed like it was scanning (because I don't understand what it means, so it feels like it's scanning). My classmate said it seemed like a cluster problem (he doesn't understand very well either).

What might be the reason for this?

You run diskgen, which is in Chinese. Without a Chinese platform, check the situation of each partition. If there's nothing, select the option to rebuild the partition table, execute it, and see if you can retrieve your partitions. If automatic doesn't work, use manual. After retrieving, save the changes and restart, then you can retrieve your lost data... This is a typical symptom of partition table corruption... After execution, let me know what happens... Then I'll figure out a way...

Okay, thank you, master brother! I'll go and do it first. I'll ask you again if I don't understand. Thank you. By the way, what's the worst case for my situation? I've never touched the hard drive. This time it should be caused by a virus. There shouldn't be too much physical damage. If it really doesn't work, can I low-level format the hard drive to solve all problems? The boot record, partition table, allocation table, etc. will all be okay? Alas~ If it really doesn't work, I can only low-level format. The data is gone, but it's better than the hard drive being gone!

Master大哥, I forgot to ask you. Does this diskgen exist on my two boot disks?

I've confirmed these days that the motherboard should be okay because there are no signs of motherboard damage. But when I enter the BIOS setup and check the hard drive, sometimes the name of the hard drive shows garbled characters, and sometimes it doesn't.

It should be a problem with the hard drive~ Now I don't understand much, and I only have two tools, dm and ndd, on hand (excluding those in the boot disk), so please help me a lot, little brother is very grateful!!!

diskgen should be available at http://newdos.yginfo.net/; if you can't find it, post a thread in the software section...
Your BIOS can detect the hard drive, which means the problem is not serious... Don't be anxious...

Now I only know that the hard drive is not recognized. Now after booting from the boot disk, only C: can be accessed (just now I heard from the master that D: is a virtual area created by the boot disk). Although C:\> is displayed, any operation cannot be done, and it prompts that the C drive cannot be read. Other drives cannot be accessed either, and it prompts that they are not recognized. I can run NDD, DM, FDISK commands and tools, but common DOS commands like SCANDISK and FORMAT cannot be run. 5555~~~~
I don't know how to use FDISK and don't dare to move it randomly. DM is also not used. (Just now I read the introduction, it seems to be useless). NDD can't be read. I'm really in a hurry, but I don't dare to low-level format, afraid that the failure is not as serious as I thought. Now I'm really at a loss!!!
