It's too troublesome. If your notebook recognizes the USB flash drive and can boot from the USB flash drive, then use Rar under DOS to compress the I386 into a self-extracting file in volumes. Generally, USB flash drives are at least 128M, and it will work after doing it a few times. If it doesn't work, go buy a parallel or serial port connection cable to copy......

Today I just found this website today. I'm really lucky. My current laptop isn't useful anymore. The system can't be installed. I don't know how to make a U disk DOS boot disk either! Help me!

Let me talk about my previous approach. The premise is that the machine has a USB port, and can boot to DOS using a USB floppy drive or USB flash drive, and the hard drive is easy to remove. Remove the hard drive, connect it to a USB hard drive enclosure, take it to a desktop computer, partition it into a Fat32 partition, and copy the I386 directory from the Windows installation disc to a partition other than the C drive. Then reinstall the hard drive back into the laptop, boot the system with a floppy disk, use FDISK or PQ to delete the C drive and then create a new FAT32 formatted C drive (the reason for recreating on the laptop is that some laptops' hard drives partitioned on other machines may fail to boot after installing the WinNt system), and then directly enter the I386 directory under DOS, run the SmartDrv 20000 and WinNt commands to install the system.

Also, if your machine is equipped with a network card, you may be able to connect to the WINDOWS system by loading a network client under DOS, and everything else will be fine. For the network client under DOS, I personally recommend downloading it from http://www.netbootdisk.com/, which is very good and supports many types of network cards.

My laptop has no CD drive or floppy drive. There is a U disk that can support FDD boot. Who has a ready - made DOS boot disk that can open the U disk and the mobile hard disk? I installed several and none worked. Thanks. It's troublesome.
