That's not right. Didn't I ask you to boot to pure DOS using a DOS boot disk and then run MEM /C? What's the use of running it in CMD? If you don't know how to take a screenshot in pure DOS, please enter MEM /C >C:\FILE.TXT, and then post the content in C:\FILE.TXT.

It seems that it is indeed the case. I have known the reason, that is, the UMB memory of yours is too small, resulting in that DOSLFN does not have enough UMB memory to load the Chinese code page and thus the Chinese code page fails to load. Please modify the A:\AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove the "LH" in front of "LH DOSLFN" in it.

In most computers, it can actually be used normally without modification. Only on a few computers where the UMB memory is too small (only about 60KB) does it need to be modified. However, once modified, it can be used normally on all computers, and there will be no other problems.

There is another question. I copied this long filename-supported XCOPY to other boot disks and it didn't work, while the previous XCOPY without long filename support that I downloaded from this forum works on any boot disk, which means this long filename-supported XCOPY has poor compatibility and can only work on the pure MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk you provided. Why is this?

This is not a compatibility issue, but for other reasons. Why do you want to copy it to other boot disks? Can't you just use this pure DOS boot disk directly or modify it based on it to make your own boot disk? After all, this is the most compatible pure DOS boot disk.
