China DOS Union

I have the German version of Norton Commander 5.5, and later replaced it with the English messages from the 5.0 English version, making it a not very complete English version of NC 5.5. It fully supports long filenames.

There are already many DOS programs that support long filenames now, especially the famous DJGPP programs. PKZIP, UNRAR, ARJ, 4DOS, VC, and so on also support them.

Does doslfn only work in a Chinese-language environment?

I tried it:
For Simplified Chinese you only need: doslfn.com ; cp936uni.tbl ; cp936uni.gbk
Run at the command line: DOSLFN /Z CP936UNI.TBL

Of course it's not just DIR, TYPE, COPY, MORE, EDIT, etc. all work too.

After loading DOSLFN,
DOS commands such as COPY, TYPE, and so on can all operate normally on long filenames,
but support for filenames containing spaces is not very good, which really can be called a major regret.

I tried the xxcopy16 software:

For files whose names contain spaces, they become 8+3 format during copying, so it is powerless too.

I wonder whether XXcopy16 has any special parameters under DOS7.0 that would let it support copying long filenames?

Filenames with spaces are easy too, just put them in quotes, for example:
CD "My Documents"

As for XXCOPY16, it simply doesn't support long filenames itself, so there's no way around that. But many other newer DOS programs do support them.

For a small number of files like this, adding quotes is still tolerable,
but what if you need to copy a large number of such files?
For example:
Copy all files in the C drive's ABC folder (including Chinese filenames with spaces, probably N*100 of them) to the D drive's PPP folder, and require that the long filenames remain unaffected after copying. How can this be done under DOS7.X?

Just use COPY C:\ABC D:\PPP and that's fine.

All the files inside will be copied automatically, including long filenames.
