I know now, it is mainly because of CLOAKING+MSCDEX. I remember Shen Jie once said that CLOAKING cannot load correctly on some computers, causing MSCDEX to occupy nearly 30KB of memory. Just do not load these programs (especially programs that take relatively more memory such as PC-CACHE, DOSLFN, MSCDEX, etc.) so as to free up more conventional memory to run RICH3. Doesn’t my MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk have a function to disable PC-CACHE? Try disabling it..

In short, it is a problem with TSR programs being loaded, not a problem with the system itself, so just adjust the settings.

It’s working now! Thanks to the moderator for the great help! At the same time, I hope the moderator can release an all-purpose DOS CD image (including virtual EMS memory and a complete DOS system super CD image!)
After all, CDs are the mainstream now! DOS can’t be limited to floppy drives...
And floppy drive heads are always getting misaligned! It is often the case that a floppy from one computer cannot be read on another...
I think 700MB should be enough to hold 3 or 4 complete DOSes, right?
