First check what attributes the file has,
if it doesn't have any attributes then just use Copy,
the reason your Copy above didn't succeed is that you didn't type the extension for your ntldr file!
If you don't know it, just type ntldr.* and it can be copied,
as for how Xcopy copies hidden files,
just download a Chinese-localized edition and use Xcopy/？ yourself to have a look, then you'll know!

To copy hidden files use /H

FreeDOS has two XCOPYs:
One was written by Rene Ableidinger. Latest version 1.1
One was written by Joe Cosentino. Latest version 2.0
LYDONG uses the former, I use the latter. The former is more powerful than the latter, while the latter is smaller and more suitable for a boot disk.
I have both of these XCOPYs, and everyone can also find them on the official FREEDOS website.

FreeDOS does have two XCOPYs, I know that. But when they are both compressed with UPX, the latter isn't much smaller than the former, yet its functions are far less powerful than the former's...

One more question: when I type the command like this XCOPY space C:\ntldr space D:\/h it still doesn't work. ntldr has no extension. Please advise and write out the correct command, thanks.

It definitely has one; under winXp the extension is hidden by default!
xcopy c:\ntldr.* d: /h
Try the usage above!
